AmericanBookFest.com announced the winners and finalists of its 2020 Best Book Awards on November 20, 2020. Author Pat Nelson received the honor of “Finalist” in the Biography category for her book Open Window: the Lake Julia TB Sanatorium, a Community Created by Tuberculosis.
Nelson lived on the dairy farm of the Sanatorium when she was a child. She returned to her childhood home on several occasions to gather information about the San’s doctors, patients, employees, and neighbors.
When Open Window was released in the spring of 2020, it was a “New Release Best Seller” in three categories. Nelson says it was an honor to share the story of the Sanatorium. She looks forward to sharing the additional information sent by readers.
